My "World Famous"* Gi washing technique

Alright, Being a big guy and usually going against big guys in randori my gi gets pretty damn sweaty and dirty after a while. Im sure some of you have experienced the "Just washed but still smells like zombie feet" wash. Being the innovative individual i am i came up with a great way to get your gi to an almost new look and scent.
What youll need:

1. Bucket of POWDER oxyclean. (around $10)
2. A nice sturdy wash tub.
3. Your favorite detergent and fabric softener.
4. Nail brush.

The way i start is by getting into the shower after a nice long practice with the gi top on. Yes a little weird but running the shower on the gi top will get most of the nasty sweat, blood and tears out of it and is a good way to pre wash it. After running the shower on for about 5 mins take the top off, grab about a cupfull of oxyclean powder making sure the rest of it stays dry or it will ruin the oxyclean. Grab some oxyclean powder and throw a little water on it and rub it into the nastier parts (neck area, lapels, end of sleeves, and any blood stains) then grab the nail brush and scrub away at those parts gently not to damage the gi. after youre done with that put a bit of detergent in the wash tub and dilute it with HOT water and throw the gi inside. Heres the fun part, let the water run into the tub with the gi inside and mash it up with your fists, feet, throw it around and beat the sweat out of it (pun intended) till the water gets nice and light. After your done with your mma battle with your gi pick it up, rinse the tub and fill it with COLD water (warm water will let the left over germsmultiply and make it stink again) mixed with detergent, fabric softener, and about half a cup of oxyclean and let it sit for at least 12 hours, turning it once in awhile. When youve done all this throw it in the wash as usual with some oxyclean and it will come out fresh as can be. Try my method and give me some feedback. Enjoy, Andrey. biggrin.gif
